EXTREMULTUS 81 power transmission belts and reversible drive:

Reversible drive with flat power transmission belts can present an issue in some types of transmissions.

Most flat belts are self-centring when operating in one direction and never get misaligned in the course of several months or years.

The issue arises when you change the rotating direction of the belt, as it causes the belt to slide off-centre on the pulley, either right or left; in the worst case scenario the belt falls down of the pulley.

EXTREMULTUS 81 flat transmission belts in reversible drives ensure uninterrupted running and are not affected by shifting the operation direction. For a number of years now we have been supplying belts to Schenck Pegasus – a manufacturer of diagnostic equipment in the automotive industry. The testing device features the 81 belt as a link between the drive and driving axle. The device is used for testing gearboxes in the automotive industry.
